SunRise Cafe
Walking into the calm, smooth atmosphere of this laid-back cafe provides for a comfortable eating experience one may never find elsewhere. At SunRise cafe, all the food is made from scratch, much different from the typical American eating experience. And by typical, I mean a five minute or less drive thru providing a family of four with "meat" that in fact only contains about 20% real beef. It was extremely nice to eat somewhere where the food is as sincere as the people. After walking into the cafe I sat down in a cute, quaint booth, and ordered an organic glass of cranberry juice. It was unlike the cranberry juice I purchased at the store; this cranberry juice was pink, with a lime wedge, and tasted as pretty as it looked. Just the refreshment itself, which went down smoother than water, was enough to convince me I had found a treasure by the name of SunRise Cafe.
I must divert your attention from my cranberry juice and place it onto my meal: sausage and gravy slathered over warm, fresh, homemade biscuits. The gravy was just the right consistency, with a bit of spice to it--maybe sage. The sausage, covered in gravy, was warm and juicy, not processed and gooey. Lastly, the dark biscuits, also under the layer of rich, delicious gravy, were butter smothered and flakey...mmmm good. Must I add that our service was also prompt and quick, making the meal that much better than it already was.
I must say I was highly impressed by the food and service at the SunRise Cafe. The best of all was that it was a unique eating experience that I suggest everyone reading this review should try to have. You will not be disappointed, for nothing beats a homemade meal and a laid-back, hippie-inspired atmosphere to eat it in.
